Sound card not working

Hello,

I'm new with Kubuntu and in the forum. Nice to meet you all.
I have just installed Kubuntu in my Alienware 15R2 laptop. It uses an HDA Intel PCH soundcard. I don't get any sound when I try to play online videos or music files.

I would really appreciate any help.

check systemsettings -> multimedia to be sure the card is in the correct profile and being used for the items you want also you can test the config there too.

edit: also check that the volume is not muted or turned down really low.
