Black Rectangles

Has anyone found a solution to the black rectangles problem that occurs when a mouse is pointed to a link, etc.?

That seems to have worked. Hope it is stable when I close FF

Interestingly, I changed the tooltip background colour from black to a light blue. The tooltip text is almost white according to the 'colours', but I see black text on a light blue background when pointing to, say, 'reply'.

Hope it is stable when I close FF

It is stable for me (14.04, FF, etc.).
I had to experiment a couple times to get the right combination of colors.
