My password suddenly refuses to unlock the desktop after it sleeps.
I decided I'd forgotten the password so I booted to recovery mode and dropping to the root shell and entered
I issued "password <username>, entered and verified the new password, it returned "password updated successfully"
Rebooting I find it the password works with updates/upgrades etc. from the CLI but still won't unlock the desktop.
I never did make a password for root but only for the single user on the machine.
What could have happened and how do I fix this?
Thanks!
