After about 2 years of non-use, my computer works again.

I should have said Printer instead of computer in the title of this post.

RodJ's help is rock-solid. My Brother printer, HL2270DW, only worked when I had Windows Vista or Windows 7 installed. It is a very good printer (B/W Lazer) when it works.

It seemed to be one of those printers that could not be installed unless you are an experienced and capable user. I worked on it off and on for at least a couple of years trying to get it to function in a Kubuntu distribution. Many hours of recommendations always failed, so you guys were trying to help so many times, yet nothing worked.

I spent countless hours trying every posted recommendation to get it to work, but it was the persistence of our forum's RodJ that finally got the job done. For those who have not yet received help from Rod, his advice is terrific. I felt the need to tell all of you about him, because I am so happy.

Eventually we will win the unnecessary blocks that Microsoft has put into play to discourage Linux users. It is those gurus in our forum and the many like them that through patience have made our use of Linux systems possible.

I wrote kind of a testy email to Brother, because I have invested so much time trying to get their product to work. I wrote a branch of their main website, because as always no person was available. They sounded like they wanted to help, this one more time, but their solution was very much like past recommendations and again I could not get my printer to work. That is until Rod got involved. I am so happy that when it started to work, all I could do is Laugh. I do that when I am really happy and cannot control this laughter.

It has been more than 6 hours since Rod fixed it, and I am still chuckling a little; I know the smile has not left my face. We are very lucky to have him in this forum. Shab The smilies represent before and after.
