Has anyone installed the Kubuntu remote desktop option - HOST
Hello, my friend, KRDC is pre-installed in K14.04 too and krfb which is the other end, I installed too. RodJ is the one who has been helping me long distance, so I will forward the information on to him, (I am pretty sure he has read this anyway) so we can test kde's performance. It probably will solve the speed problem. My suspicion is that KRDC & krfb are multiplatform as well, and probably faster and more efficient. If we are successful, I will give a report. Thx for the input.

I regularly use Teamviewer, for one because it's cross platform.
But it works just as well between Linux machines like mine here in The Netherlands and the GF's in Denmark.
I can't say I've seen it being slow even when I use it intercontinental but that was always to (broken) Windows computers.
For KDE there is KRDC and is the client of a Client-Server based protocol, the other side needs the server, I believe xrdp would do the trick
I see the client is installed on this default Kubuntu 16.04 but have not used it in over ten years...
