    i tried this an it worked for me ... hope it helps u


    $ sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ $(lsb_release -sc) partner"
    $ sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
    $ sudo apt-get update
    $ sudo apt-get install skype

        Thank you for the help, akqj10, I recently got Skype working. My memory is leaving me. Sometimes, like now, I can't remember exactly what was done to make the fix. I am grateful for those who helped me; Skype is very important in my current life.

        I will retain a copy of your kind reply, if I lose my Skype connection. You are most appreciated.
