CPU & Memory Widget not working properly?

For several months I have used a widget that reported the use function of the CPU and Memory - real-time graphic - it has always indicated each of my 8-cores. Recently I am having a sluggish desktop in the K16.04 distribution, additionally the CPU & Memory widget on the desktop only report the activity of one core of my 8-core processor.

This happened after a large update/dist-ugprade, so I believe that is the cause, but perhaps not. Unless this is a common known physical error, I can wait for the next system download. Also, characters lag when typing, sometimes completely stopping. Shab

I screwed up here. In configuration there were other drives needing checkboxes. I failed to check those boxes. As a result, only one core of my CPU was reported. Sorry.
