Problem with login on Kubuntu 15.10

I have a strange problem with the login on Kubuntu 15.10.

My laptop turned off due to a discharged battery in standby mode. When I turned it on appeared problems. When a window appears enter password there are two ways that can happen. If I enter the password within a few seconds of the window appearing I get tty1 console with a request to enter a username and password. If I don't put in a password then for a split second appears on the console (I don't have time to read anything), and then again with the login box. Now if I enter my password, I successfully log in, but I cannot turn on/off network interfaces and switching between tty (if I press ctrl + alt + f1..f7 nothing happens). If now I will terminate the session KDE and login again, network interfaces and tty work well, but if I close my laptop's and open it again, the password dialog will not be displayed.

What could be the problem?

After removing plymouth all problems were resolved:

sudo apt-get remove plymouth

I always have a dual boot in my system with the latest version of Kubuntu as one and the latest stable version as my primary Operating System.

I had Kubuntu 15.04 and 15.10 in my system for several months. They were always giving me trouble. Eventually, I decided to try Kubuntu 16.04 to see what was new.

From the day I opened Kubuntu 16.04 in my computer, I found a very stable cutting-edge system. The plasma 5 widgets still have quite a bit of work to stabilize, but I have not had any of the Kubuntu 15 problems. It is my understanding that Kubuntu 16 will become a long term supported version, which also makes it a better choice.

Unless you enjoy daily repair of your operating system, you might want to try Kubuntu 16.04. Additionally K16 seems to be even faster in the normal operating tasks.

Since I installed Kubuntu 16.04 after already having Kubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit (which is even more stable), K16 is so stable in the early stages of development, I rarely use the more stable K14.04 any more, and K16 is first to open being latest installed.

It might be worth a try for you.
