Breeze iconset not working after clean install

I just installed Kubuntu 15.10 clean (alongside windows).
Install process went fast and went well.

However upon starting up KDE I immediately noticed the dreaded not so pretty icon set that I remember from way back. It seems Breeze iconset does not work. It seems to be selected, but nothing happens:


The breeze iconset worked when in live mode....

any ideas?

This is the icon set I have on at the moment - I actually preffer this one to the "breeze".
But "out-of-the-box" breeze should be the default set...

Have you tried selecting a different set, click on "Apply" and then back to Breeze - select it - Apply ?

Curious that Breeze icons are not default in your installation...
