    Gparted ?

Hi all. Have just got a Dapper Drake Kubuntu box up and running. Mostly a good experience. All seems to be working. I would like to install a second SATA Hard Drive for use as additional storage for files, music, etc.

I have read various Ubuntu/Kubuntu forums that detail the instructions. My query is can I use Gparted (which I have installed) to format and mount the new HDD? I am a bit wary about installing additional hard drives, and while I am quite prepared to go through the command line method, I was hoping that a GUI (Gparted) could do all the hard work?

Would appreciate any feedback re this matter.

    Thanks one and all

Yes, you should be able to partition it and format partitions with Gparted. Your system should mount it automatically

Though qtparted (kind of the kubuntu equivalent) should be able to do it just the same
