The author (or someone else) of KOceanSaver would have to port it to the current Frameworks and/or Plasma libraries. This software does not seem to have any action in 2+ years. They would probably have to create a new, standalone program, as opposed to a screensaver module, as there is no configuration/settings backend for it to use anymore.
I could see something done as a standalone application or plasma widget sort of thing, or custom screen locker (which is likely where screensaver type of programs would have to move to, in terms of Plasma -- and Wayland, down the road)
But, since they are not "needed" anymore, actually, I went to putting a group of pictures that I like in a folder and go through desktop setup to set the file as cycling desktop images, (KDE girls for when nobody is around and politically correct pics when I have visitors, wouldn't want to offend any sensibilties! ) lol
Unless your using an old CRT monitor, you do not need a screensaver.
You are a brave man saying this, I said it once a few years back and they tore me to shreds.
I have an Emerson 22" LCD TV as monitor. I have never turned it off, except to move stuff about. It has ran for many years now. Wallpaper is not burnt into my monitor, I don't use any screensavers or power management on it. With that said, the best way to find screensavers is just to look in the software center. But this was too obvious... You could also install any Windows screensaver you desire and run it using a wineserver. Personally I think this would be a waste of memory but so is running a screensaver.
KOceanSaver looks pretty cool and I assume you like your virtual aquarium. This was created using the Blender. I guess you could just recompile it using the Blender? The Blender looks complicated but I have a friend who tells me it just appears overtly complicated. If you download the Blender it has the ability to compile screensavers and 3D games too for Linux.
