In some windows in kubuntu it hides the bottom and sides of pages.
. Does this happen in all programs or only in some, and, if so which ones? Do you still see the kicker panel at the bottom of the screen? What kind of a monitor do you have? If it is a flat panel, what is it's size in pixels e.g. 800x600, 1024x768 or 1280x1024? If it is a CRT, what are the ranges of acceptable values for the Horizontal Sync frequency, and the Vertical Refresh rate?
Once you have this information, I would suggest that you start a full screen black-and-white console by pressing Ctl-Alt-F1. Then login with your username and password. Run the command "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" so that you can reconfigure your display. You will have to give your password again. You can just choose the defaults for most of the questions you will be asked, but be careful about the answers to questions about your screen size. After you have completed this procedure, type Ctl-Alt-F7 to go back to KDE. Then log out and restart the xserver so that the new configuration will be used.
