Unable to boot into os after removing hard drive.

Hello,

Trying to use virtualbox to get back lost data but in the process having unplugged one of the drives the os is not booting , just hangs in grub.

As soon as i connect the drive back the os lets me boot.

If it is any help i am using an nvidia graphics card.

Need some help again and Thanks.

How is unplugging a drive helping with data recovery?

What makes you think your video card may be the source of the problem?

"hangs in grub" means what exactly? Dumps you to grub prompt? Grub menu unresponsive?

I would half to ask ,,,,,,,,what is on the drive that was removed ,,,,,,,,the OS controlling grub maby ?
