    installing fonts

I'm trying to install a couple new fonts. I open dolphin, click on the font, the installer opens, I click on "install" and it sits there and hangs. This is obviously something needing a tweak, but what?

In KDE4 go to System settings>Font management and click "add" button.

That's where it hangs! It hangs there as well as when I try it in Dolphin. It will hang at 50% done. Is it looking for root privileges and not asking for it? I wouldn't think that I would need to be root to install a font, but even then it should ask for it, shouldn't it?

          Yes,I also encountered that.
I can only install ttf font using 'personalise' option when installing. If I choose to install 'system-wide',it hangs.
And even if I try in root,it hangs at 50% and then plasma crashed.
That worse,I had to reinstall OS again.
So,I also would like to know how can I change, copy or replace some files in root in order to install new keyboard?
Now,I am really afraid to do some changes in root.

I know this isn't really helpful, but I just tried this here and it installed a system font after asking for the admin password. I did get an error message about the "backend" failing and being restarted, but the font installed.

Are you sure the password prompt window isn't just hidden behind the main window? I did have this happen once or twice a few weeks back prior to some updates.
