Vlc and Smplayer weird languge problem.

    Hi,

This is a very strange problem . Both vlc and smplayer have illegible fonts .

Seems to be in Russian , anyway, thing is, how do you get back English or is English there already, just the fonts are weird ?

Deleted the smplayer.ini file completely , restarted - top menu bar was in English , as for as the rest of the menus - total gibberish.

Deleted and reinstalled but still the same fonts/language.

The strange thing is that this anomaly has also affected vlc player in exactly the same way.

I downloaded smplayer (.exe version ) and all fine there. I prefer faithful Kubuntu though.

    Screens below :

You can see the strange fonts or language or maybe just plain gibberish .

Tried google see if something on language or fonts issue for the players but drawn blanks on both.

Anyone here know what`s going on.

    Thanks.

    Locales ?

    Seems to be Greek ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_alphabet ).

What are your locales ? - Older Thread: English menus and terminal output change to Japanese

It's just the regular English language interface displayed in a Greek (or 'Symbol') font ...
