Which edition do you recommend for install? Moderate level of Linux experience.

I have used Ubuntu in past as well as Manjaro....5 years experience...

What is your recommendation?

14.10, or
Plasma 5 install?

Thanks. Like everyone else intrigued by Plasma 5 but don't want to install something not stable....

At here...

At here, the Kubuntu 14.04 LTS is the main desktop - There is the default KDE SC 4.13 and an option to upgrade to the KDE SC 4.14 from the Kubuntu PPA system /1/.


The 14.10 support will end 2015-06 /2/.

The nicest label for the KDE 14.12 & KF5 & Plasma 5 is work in progress. At here it ( Kubuntu 15.04 alpha2) is stable but there are rough edges. It will take some time (a year ? - Kubuntu 16.04 ? - a throwback from the KDE 4.0 ) to mature.

I would install 14.04 LTS for daily use then dual boot to 14.10 with Plasma5 for fun and experimentation - that's how I'm configured!
