So, I figured this might be a good place to get help. I'm an intermediate linux user, and I've used Yakuake as a drop down terminal for a long time, so for my new laptop I figured why not just go ahead and use KDE instead of Gnome. So I installed Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu, I'm a pretty new to KDE, but I think I've got the hang of activities and things.
So here's my problem, upon waking from sleep the touchpad does not respond at all. Here's a couple of the things I've tried which solved this issue for other people on Ubuntu:
1. disabling and re-enabling the touchpad using xinput.
2. adding "atkbd.reset" to GRUB_COMMANDLINE_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub.
3. Setting up a key command to enable the touchpad from system settings.
None of them have worked, the touchpad still doesn't respond upon waking from sleep. Nothing shows up when I cat /dev/input/mouse0 either.
So that's where I am, any help would be appreciated, I'm not even sure I'm posting this in the right sub-forum, but thanks ahead of time.
