Hi dtr - Thanks for you comment. I did not overlook the deb and rmp packages of LibO. I simply did not yet look into the details... I know that there is an installation manual at LibO but have not read yet.... ------ My original intention was to just get information on possibilities to upgrade outside the normal repository. I am newbie to Linux and even more newbie to kubuntu. I only learned 2 days ago that there is even a graphical installer for deb files in kubuntu. Such an application makes it easier to work with. For the terminal commands I - as a newbie - have always to look them up first... ------- On the other side the maintainer of the LibO Lauchnet site is well known in the LibO world, thus I can rely on him. ------ Once I completed my no-go items I will tackle the upgrade of LibO. And this thread contains a lot of valuable information, including your comment on deb and rpm files.
