Codec FAAD no sound ?

Hi,

Having just installed geforce nvidia graphic card , there`s no audio from the faad codec.

Worked fine before. I have a collection of older files using this codec.

Installed the nvidia to get better play on mkv files.

I have the 1.0.23 sound driver , ( was 1.0.17 ) - that was fine.

Need some help in getting this faad codec to work as i am word twisted in so many explanations on google.

Solved it, although i`d like to explain it but i can`t.

Must have been something to do with pulseaudio as i selected pulse in mplayer from the audio profile. Installed faad , which was not - ( faad2 was ).

Still, audio is back on my old movie collection - i`m happy.

Spoke too soon, it seems you need to go to smplayer / preferences / audio / pulse and change pulse to any other setting then back to pulse.

Sound is back again but surely there has to be an easier way.

Have to go through this every time, can you not just lock the settings in place ?
