Don't know that anybody ever just "said" this.
One can add the "Rocket" Quicklaunch to the desktop and add applications from the dropdown menu......yes.........
But.......
One can also open a browser, I used FF, and drag the little "symbol" for the URL for a webpage into the Quicklaunch window(across the desktop) and a kind of little white square with a blue "globe" on it will appear in the Quicklaunch window.
KInd of, but not perzackly like this:
One has to add a name, such as "Opera House Schedule".
One can just click it and FF will automagically open to the correct webpage.
If one has the desire one can also change the icon.
Another example of KDE plasma goodness! lol
