    Install AMD and NVIDIA graphics on same os ?

    Hello,

    I want to add an extra graphics card to my os (an nvidia ) , as this has hardware acceleration and mkv videos would smooth out.

    Gone through so many installs that a couple more would n`t hurt.

    Keep getting errors though :

    Code:
    Reelbox login : dyndnsd: dyndns turned of in
    * Doing sanity -checks (startup)
    * Checking Battery
    ......lots of other gibberish followed by :

    nx sensor is disabled in `/usr/Nx/etc/made -cfy`
    *EAnabling additional executable binary formats bin fnt-support
    Trying to start Nx servers
    Nx>122 service started
    Nx>999 Bye
    Trying to start Nx statistics :
    Nx>723 Cannot start Nx statistics
    Nx>709 Nx statistics are disabled for this server
    Nx>Bye

    Reelbox Login : Cat: /tmp/vdr.wakeup: No such file or directory
    Setting Reelbox Frontpanel LEDs (startup)

    login screen and repeating over again.

    More konsole output :

    ata 5 status : (dry ERR)
    ata 5 status : (DNC)
    ata 5 exception Emask 0x0 Suct 0x1 SErr 0x0 action 0x0
    ata 5 cmd 60
    So with both cards in place i boot up , let the os go through it`s motions and just when it seems as though the splash screen is about to appear the screen goes black with a prompt for login.

    Does n`t end there , a few seconds later and the above text in code displays.

    Help much appreciated - thanks.

    Installed the nvidia driver in the end and running separate to amd but no audio ( on both ).

    Loaded in some updated sound drivers from another forum and this solved it - partially .

    I now have a hard drive with no mount point , so it won `t mount .

    On top of that i can`t write to my other drives ( not so good )

    I will start a new topic on the drives.

    Thanks to every one that helped.
