    Kubuntu allows "link on desktop".

    Vinnywright mentioned this on the thread on Living on the Edge with Neon.

    I just tried it tonight.

    One can open say, LibreOffice in the menu and right click on the item in the menu, and there is an option to place a link on the desktop, just like in good ol' Windblows!

    I just never did it always just added the "rocket launcher" and put linkys in there. :0

    Keep in mind ,,,,, IF widgets are unlocked you can allso drag and drop anything from in dolphin to the desktop ,,,,,, for a icon or picture frame or note , bla bla bla

      again.............I did not know that..........I always used the widget........which gives a preview which just dragging it does not.........one gets the title etc. but....again........

      GOOD blah blah blah! lol
