    [code]...[/code]

I have tried to use the
    Code:
    ..
tags to post lines that should scroll. But, usually, I get a single line.

I have tried to post what is effectively text using this markup.

My questions is: is Text computer code?

Should there be another markup used in conjunction with code?

    Thanks

You'll notice 2 things in the above examples: Both times the first carriage return was lost. I don't know why this is happening but I noticed it started happening few months ago. I'm going to go ahead and report this to the mods today. Also notice the text is mono spaced. That's the biggest difference between using [ CODE ] vs. [ QUOTE ] that I see.

        Still working, using Go Advanced
I've changed the paste, because the system does not like duplicates

Can't explain my varying experiences, unless someone has made an adjustment!

Do users use the # (code), rather than just a paste, to get the use of a scroll bar?

You have to use the the CODE tag (# on the Advanced Editor view) in order to get the scroll bar(s).

If you have copied console output and want to keep the format of the listing, then click on the # (you might have to click the Go Advanced button) first, then put your cursor between the tags and paste what you copied from the console.
