    Mouse Pointer Corruption

    This really isn't a BIG issue because I have a work around fix. However I thought since I cannot find the exact error and it seems to happen at random maybe others have seen it. I will be doing anything and my mouse pointer suddenly becomes a vertical column of mini versions of itself. I have recreated the images below since my screenshots will not capture the actual mouse pointer on my display.

    Now for the work around, I use xrandr to change resolution and it seems to snap out of it. I am still running 12.04 LTS has this bug been reported in other versions? If so, I cannot find them on any search. The mouse still functions but apparently this is something to do with the animation of the cursors?

    never seen this @hear on 12.04 13.10 or 14.04

    sounds like a video prob .....like driver or bad option/setting in Xorg.conf ...if you have one .

      There is or was a desktop effect that does something like that. Maybe you've triggered it somehow.

        I was thinking about it being linked to Xorg since xrandr gets rid of it. Not much of an issue if it only effects 12.04. I wanted to put this out there just in case others have anything like this happen. However should I find a permanent solution I will post it and mark this solved.

        ===UPDATE===

        It is my ATI driver.
