    keep it clean ;]

OK so I have been quite lazy hear for a wile and not keeping up on my administrative house keeping .

I noticed my / (root) partition of 30GB was down to 6GB free ,,,,,, I realize I have not been cleaning house.

I look in /boot and low and behold I have every kernel (vmlinuz) from 3.11 through 3.13.0-35 and all the headers extras and configs still laying around .

after using muon to filter for status, installed (auto removable) and selecting purge for all of them except the newest 2,, 3.13.0-34&35 I got up to 10GB free .

poking around in Downloads I found 4 OS.iso's I did not need any more , deleting them and now I have 16GB free in / .........

most of my directory’s in ~/ (/home/vinny) point to their name sakes in a 193GB partition @/mnt/disk but Downloads is not one of them ....oops

the point is,,,,,,keep up on your house keeping as it can get away from you real quick and eat up your real estate (HD space)

    lazy

I looked at Bleachbit once, but decided I'd continue using IgnorantGuru's kscrubber script.

I also liked IgnorantGuru's work. However, as he admitted, he quit supporting his cleaner long ago, and it is not up to cleaning some of the latest KDE developments (I'm forgetting WHAT files it may not clean, but at one time I-G was clear on it). Bleachbit at that time also had problems--like it did not clean the Flash cookies. But Bleachbit now seems to be pretty much up-to-snuff, and I'm under the impression it is well maintained.Bleachbit sure cleans a ton of sh*! And, after each cleaning, you can see exactly what files it cleaned; you can choose which files you want it to clean, too (listed on the left of the Bleachbit program box as it cleans). Make sure you get BOTH the user mode and the admin mode (which simply requires your Kubuntu PW) and run both each time.

(Sorry, I didn't see these latest posts re the cleaners until just now.)
Note: I-G makes the scripts for his scrubber available. So if you really understand the workings of KDE & Kubuntu, you could modify his script to include more stuff to clean.

I decided to try bleachbit ,,,,,like @Qqmike I saw that IgnorantGuru's script was old and I did not feal up to editing it .

using bleachbit I freed up another 250MB in / and 1.6GB in ~/ .........nice.

I do now half to have sites like KFN re-recognize me for auto login ......but hay
