    Resize NTFS partition

    Hello,
I installed Kubuntu and it works just fine. However when it did the install, it made the Linux partition much larger than I wanted it. I have used Gparted to reduce the size of the Linux partition, but it won't increase the NTFS partition. I don't understand what the extended partition is though? It looks like the NTFS partition I am trying to increase is inside this extended partition. Is that why it is constrained?

I think the problem is that you would essentially be writing to the NTFS partition - a feature that gparted probably doesn't have. You may want to consider formatting the "extra space" as fat32 (using gparted) so that it is usable by both distros. This is a fairly good compromise.
