    Unknow media type in all and uri warning

    hi have been getting this or something similar a few times lately. I got it both on a 32 and 64 bit systems. This time I have just installed kubuntu on a laptop. Is there a way of rectifying this, thanks

    I do get this warning (using 12.04 and 14.04 and probably before) but I never noticed any detrimental effect on the functioning of my computer.
    AFAIK you can ingnore it safely

      In short, kde introduces some mimetypes that are not in the fdo spec, and the tool that updates the mime database on the system (triggered on some package installation/upgrades) is just chatty about it. As rjj already mentioned, the messages can safely be ignored.
