Unable to edit grub [mime-type error?]

    Hello,

Trying to edit grub but I get the warning/error messages below and the file does not open. Is there a cure for this?

    (sudo edit /etc/default/grub)
    Warning: unknown mime-type for "/etc/default/grub" -- using "application/octet-stream"
Error: no "edit" mailcap rules found for type "application/octet-stream"

    Thanks!

    Rob

    PS. Regarding Kubuntu 14.04

If you want to edit the file in a user-friendly editor, then use:

    Code:
    kdesudo kate /etc/default/grub

          kdesudo kate is great,

sudo nano /etc/default/grub might be slightly faster, depending on how much editing youre doing
