Playing a .pls stream in DragonPlayer

Ummm why! ? lol, Amarok has ALL of this stuff down pat!

Well, why go to the moon! lol

Using a browser of your choice, I use FF, go the site of the stream you desire

a) the site may provide the stream URL in the URL bar of your browser you can just copy it, and proceed to part (c) below.

b) and "click the stream", In the case of SOMA FM, I clicked Secret Agent MP3.

You should get a prompt balloon that asks if you want to play it, or open it.

In my case the default is for Amarok. but I saved it.

Go to the .pls file in downloads and right click and open it with..."other" then Kate.

You will get text similar to this.

The relevant part is:

File1=http://xstream1.somafm.com:8002

Copy:

everything after "File="

c) Open Dragon player / Play / Play Media / Play Stream

past in the url, hit play and voila! lol

You might past the url into a text file for future use, or memorize it! lol for the CLI guys! lol

You can also just right click the pls file, and "open with..", where you can choose Dragon, and even set it as the default if desired.

Or copy/drag the url of the pls file and paste it in the "play Stream" section
