    Log out to apply changes?

When I installed Automatix, it didn't show up in my Applications list, I had to run it from the Konsole. When Automatix finished, none of the installed programs showed up in the applications list either. I had to log out and then log back in, and everything appeared.

Similarly, I just made a bunch of changes (off of Google) to various sound configuration files and whatnot, and once again nothing seemed to change, I still had no music. Then I logged out and back in again, and everything works.

    What is going on?

Were you using the Ubuntu Automatix, or the Kubuntu one? I sometimes seem to find that Gnome programs don't show up in my menu until after a reboot.

      It's called "Automatix-Kubuntu".
