    Need NVidia driver for Trusty

    Linux - Kubuntu 14.04, 64-bit, 3.13.0-24-generic,
    4 x AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 645 Processor Memory 7.8 GiB

Video Card: GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Having problems with the upgrade from v13.10 - won't accept current driver!
Help! Am flying blind at the moment!!

I'll "suggest" that you disable the nVidia driver and return to using Noveau (?) and then attempt the distro upgrade. Then, assuming the OS upgrade is successful, install the proprietary driver.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

      Questions:
      1. How can I determine what NVidia driver is currently in use?
      2. How do I perform the distro upgrade?

Since previous message, found out how to install propriety drivers - now using NVIDIA legacy binary driver - version 304.117 from nivdia-304
It's nothing to write home about, so will put up with it until I can find a better solution.

304.xx is the driver I have to use here, it works pretty good on my machine, but like you said nothing to write home about. But at least it works.
Where the Noveau driver will lock the machine up.
But glad you got it working
