Kubuntu doesnt boot up after installation

After a failed attempt to install mint and Ubuntu yesterday i tried kubuntu. All is fine during the installation from a USB . But when restarted it. wont boot up. And if i go into the live USB the system says i have Ubuntu on My supposed kubuntu SSD disc.

why ? I have tried reinstalling a few times now with the same result.

Can it be that grub has been installed somewhere else then it should be ? I let kubuntu install itself on my SSD, and maybe grub was misplaced ? :-P

It is very likely. When you install, at some point it will ask you where to place grub. It should be in the main disk (the one without numbers, like /dev/sda).

There is a bug described where the main disk is listed as sdb and the USB sda. Can you reboot from any Ubuntu/Mint/kubuntu livecd and see which disk is listed as SDA and SDB?
