    Copy/Move/Delete launchers in launch bar?

Is there a way to move or copy the launchers between categroies? e.g.: if I install LibreOffice Draw, it puts launchers in "Office" and "Graphics", if I wanted to move the" Office" one to "Graphics" how would I do it? What if I wanted to copy it instead? And how about deleting them?

How would I go about copying one that's on the desktop onto the lauch bar? It's easy to go the other way: right click the taksbar icon you want on the desktop, then choose "copy to desktop" from the menu.

I can't figure out how to go the other way, or move the launchers on the taskbar.

    Thanks a lot!

Right click on the K menu and select Edit Applications.

To change the panel (taskbar), click the 'cashew' (the icon at the far right end of the panel by default), or right click an empty are of the panel and select Panel Options > Panel Settings.

Many thanks for the suggestion- There's no menu on my system that says "Edit Applications". I tried unlock widgets first, and it allows me to drag them to the desktop now. Then I went into panel setings which allows me to resize and move the whole taksbar, as well as seemingly grab icons, but I can't drop them anywhere. Do you have to be root do do it?

Since upgrading from 12.04 to 14.04 I can't login to the GUI as root. That has actually been kind-of good, since it has forced me to do things a little better. But it's also been a hassle with things always needing to be worked-around.

Seems like what would work best is logging in as root and running certain things as a less priviledged user (like the browser). Don't know why I'm crying on your shoulder about this.

      Thanks again!

On the Task Bar, you mouse on an icon, click and hold, drag to new position and let go of the mouse button and move the mouse up off the Task Bar.

Yes, of course. I can drag the icon all over, but it has the circle-bar, so I can't drop it anywhere (successfully). That is and has been the problem. How do I solve it?

After you open the Panel Settings, click on Add Widgets. You should at least be able to drag from the widgets shown there onto your desktop.

If you want to run a GUI application as root, use kdesudo. Doing otherwise is asking for problems, like root becoming the owner of files in your home directory, and other things that make kittens sad.
