[Hardware] keyboard not recognized until after boot

I just installed 4 SATA HDD's and a eSATA PCI card http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005B07ZZM into my GA-Z87X-OC system; all the new hardware works OOB. However, my keyboard & mouse only work after bootup; I can't control GRUB or get into the BIOS. I found that I can plug my keyboard into my front USB3 connector, it works as excepted...

Turns out, the card seemed to be messing with my hub; I have a USB2 hub in my monitor that my keyboard was connected through. I found a USB extension, & used that to connect my keyboard to the back of my computer.
