when instructions say 'then restart kde' do you have to reboot?

AFAIK, a log out/login will do the trick...(CTRL+ALT+Backspace)

Rebooting is mainly for when you upgrade/install a new kernel, adding new hardware(as the box should be shut down obviously) and for Windows users
When it says 'Restart KDE' then do just that. There is an option from the menu for that, or as stated above, ctrl-alt-backspace will do the trick.Comment
