Mouse pointer visible when screensaver is active

Hello All,

Is there a fix for my mouse pointer being visible when the screensaver is on? I really love Kubuntu and want to get this annoying glitch fixed. Thank you.

Which version of kde (and kde-workspace) are you using? should be fixed in newer releases:

KDELibs Version is 4.11.5 and KDE SC Version is 4.11.3. I am fairly new to updating. Can you guide me through updating the new KDE package?

I'd recommend upgrading your kubuntu installation to trusty (14.04), which will be released April 17th. It comes with the latest KDE SC packages (KDE 4.13 and Workspace 4.11.8).

Alternatively, you could install KDE 4.12.3 and Workspace 4.11.6 from kubuntu backports ppa if you're running saucy 13.10...but I strongly recommend the former.

I actually can't get the screensaver to start since the upgrade to Trusty. It just wouldn't kick in - the five minutes pass, the screen darkens a bit but no screensaver. After the customary 30 minutes the screen turns of but the screensaver is nowhere to be seen.
