i was woundering if there was a way to disable the GUI as defualt login. im starting to like the command line so well im using it more and more. i know u could use konsole but therea added flexability when the gui is gone all together howver i still require gui for certain programs.

One easy way (that requires no modifications on the system) is to just use the virtual terminals.
You can change between virtual terminals with Ctrl+Alt+Functionkey
By default terminal 1-6 are console (text) terminals and 7 is reserved for the X-session (GUI). So you can press Ctrl+Alt+F1 to log into a console session, and get back to KDM with Ctrl+Alt+F7
