Dvd / cd

I have installed Kubuntu 13.10. Since the install i can not burn cd/dvd. I was able to with my other Linux os.
I can read cd/dvd. I am trying to burn a new iso and it will not detect blank disk in drive. I get this error.

An error occurred while accessing '0 B Removable Media', the system responded: The requested operation has failed: Error mounting system-managed device /dev/fd0: Command-line `mount "/media/floppy0"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: /dev/fd0 is not a valid block device

What program are you using to attempt this? Why is it pointed at the floppy drive (fd0) instead of the dvd-rom (sr0)?

Also, please post a copy of etc/ fstab.
