Hello!
I installed Kubuntu for the first time about 8 hrs ago (13.10) and have spent a lovely day off work configuring everything - getting my email set up, VPN, upgrading the system, etc.
I find it very lovely. However after finally (I think) getting my KWallet figured out - that was the last thing I did, I did all the system updates that require reboots ages ago, I restarted the sytem.
When I did, I was very shocked to find none of my usb devices were registering at all. Not my usb mouse, usb keyboard, nothing. Plugged in usb sticks in random places, none of them would light up.
I did a few restarts thinking it was some sort of hardware problem, and fiddled with my bios. Nothing whatsoever helped. However, when I used the installation CD as a live CD, all my usb stuff magically came back.
Any idea what went wrong, and how I can possibly fix this? The good news is obviously there's nothing at risk for being lost but I am not looking forward to doing all that work again!
Thanks,
Jason
