    Installing TeTeX

I am a total Linux noob, is anybody willing to help me figure out how to install TeTeX? I think Adept isn't working correctly on my system as it only shows packages that I already have... but maybe it's supposed to do that... I have no clue. Please help!

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install teTeX-base
Also, to find more teTeX stuff, do this:

    Code:
    apt-cache search teTeX
Do that from a terminal of course.

It says it can't find the package teTeX-base. The GUI package programs seem to have problems too, I can't install any new programs.

Copy your /etc/apt/sources-list file and post it here. It may be that you don't have all the repositories enabled.
