screen locks up after ~~20 mins , VLC or no.

Well, i went to the other room where my radio was playing, and by the time i got back, the screen locking stuff was about center screen. The instant i began typing in my passwd into the blank space--the bar was flashing--the script and graphic disappeared and i was able to work. i have every instance i can find relatinng to locking screen turned OFF. I'm wedged... . Ideas??

I found the screen-lock settings and tried various things. After my first choice did not prevent the screen from locking, i just increased the default 15 minutes to >> 300 minutes. So far, so good.

    I would check the:

KDE System Settings > Display and Monitor > Screen saver/Locker settings
KDE System Settings > Power Management > Energy Saving Settings / Activity settings / Advanced settings

The DPMS settings -> Older links from the Kubuntu forums: https://www.google.fi/#q=dpms+site:h...uforums.net%2F
