Category on Desk Top

I have been using Kubuntu for about 3 years but learn something new every day. I had mine set up so that the Categories were on my desktop and I could click on one to open all the sub categories. Thes would be shown in a line across the center of the desktop. Example: Cliick on Internet and all the subs (Browsers, Mail, Google Earth, etc) that it contains are shown to pick from. Click on Games and all programs affiliated with games would have an Icon on the desktop to choose from. I had to re install everything and do not remember how I set that up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I am using Kubuntu 13.04? I found my pictures of the desktop from before I lost it but do not know how to insert in this forum. Do I have to upload somewhere and then insert?

Maybe it is the 'Search and Launch' desktop ?



Right click the desktop > (Default) Desktop Settings




Layout:...




Apply & OK
