how can i installl "synaptic" on my new kubuntu

i'm trying to set up kde on a new desktop and ii have a question or two. the calendar pkg called "synaptic" is one that i had on an older gnome desktop. i used synaptic rather than apt-get because it required less typing and i am disabled. Can anybody point me at the kde equiv of synaptic. Lastly--this post!--the default font is TINY. IIs there a way making the default tont larger? , say <FONT SIZE="4"> </FONT> ...i mean while i'm tping!!

Try Muon Package manager.

I think it's Muon, but I'm using Synaptic anyway.
What I like at Synaptic, is the console output at installation time.

K > Applications > System > Package Manager then search for synaptic and click to select then click the Installation button.

Or "sudo apt-get install synaptic" from konsole, I think.

Thhs is o everybody who replied: havng synaptic solved just about all of my questions, so 50 megs of thanks! the python script that makes my keys click isn't workng so i must have had a typo. [?]

muon package manager is like synaptic .
muon software center is like ubuntu software center.

they are different front ends software center being default since its easier for new users (both are installed by default)

The font in a browser like Firefox can be easily changed with Ctrl combined with + or -.

Muon is a good package manager, it's still missing a few options Synaptic has but for daily use it's fine.

this should probably be in a post with a new title; i was going to ask this forum why the "pidgin" messenger has such a tiny default font. Anybody know? and/or is there a way of setting the default font to some rational min--say 8point.
i can set =my= font in pidgin but the other person's font defaults to somethng seriously tiny.
