    error extracting a tarball

I tried extracting a tarball (specifically, http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/poo...ubuntu1.tar.gz), but I got an error saying that it couldn't extract because libarchive (whatever that is) couldn't handle it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm running Kubuntu 12.04. I know that that url for the tarball has 11.10 in it. I tried changing it to 12.04, but there was no such file.
    I run Kubuntu 18.04 LTS.

Well, now the url seems broken, although it worked when I tried it less than 5 minutes ago. I still have the tarball on my hard drive, though, so replies would still be appreciated.
    I run Kubuntu 18.04 LTS.

      Try this URL: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/poo...-fat-settings/

Thanks for the link, snowhog! I got lazy and just used the .deb file instead of the tarball.

And that lowfat package really makes a difference! My computer's much snappier without any real loss to aesthetics!
