We've installed MS office 2007 via playonlinux. But how do we create links that all docx files owuld open in MS word? do we need to do it manually? or would links appear if we used pure wine to install it?
What happens if you open Dolphin, then:
Right Click on a .docx file
Choose Open with
Choose whatever you need to find Wine > MS Office
Click the box at the bottom for Remember application association for this type of file
I don;t have MS Office, or WINE installed at present, but as long as you can find MS Office in the dialogs, it should work.
If not, the same dialog has an option to choose or navigate to an application at the top. You can use that to turn on 'show hidden files', using the options icon, then look for a folder in /home called .wine
In there you'll find the fake windows system, including a Program Files folder and the ms office exe file.
It should make MS Office the default for all your docx files..
