    Did my update manager just downgrade my kernel?

    Dear Fellows

    Some time ago I ran an update command to maintain my system:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && sudo apt-get autoremove && sudo apt-get clean
    As a resault of that I get this:

    Code:

    So, did my update manager just downgrade my kernel just to upgrade it again? If an answer is yes, how can I prevent of doing it every time I run dist-upgrade (or whichever command is responsible for that)?

    Thanks for any explanations

    No, you uninstalled the old kernel after you updated to the new one. What is going on during each process (the install or removal of a kernel) is that grub is being updated to add the new kernel to your boot menu, and then it is updated again to remove the entry for the one that is no longer there.

      So then, it is alright as it meant to be. Thanks for explanation.

      P.S. I know it not related but I need to ask: is it worth to upgrade to kernel 3.10 or not quite

        Kernels are packaged for the version of Kubuntu. 13.04 is using the 3.8 kernel. I don't know if 3.10 will make it into 13.04, but if it does, it will appear 'then'.
        Windows no longer obstructs my view.
        Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
