Upgrade from usb?

I have 12.10 installed and want to upgrade to 13.04. I have done this in the past using the alt cd but they are no longer available. I found instructions on how to do this with ubuntu http://askubuntu.com/questions/29020...h-an-iso-image but when I run the kubuntu installer I can't find the same option. I also have my home directory encrypted. Is it possible to upgrade kubuntu like this from the live installer?

Why not just run

sudo do-release-upgrade

from a console window? Worked for many of us here.
