Hi! ![Smiley](https://www.kubuntuforums.net/core/images/smilies/smiley.gif)
Does someone know how to configure Qstardict in order to use espeak instead of festival tts?
Default qstardict installation from repositories, comes without a tts and you can install (also from repositories) the festival tts, that works out of the box.
Qstardict has an option for setting another tts, but I couldn't understand how to use it and I didn't found any related entry in its documentation.
I have nothing against festival, but it doesn't work properly here. It produces almost unacceptable sound quallity.
On the other hand, espeak is by far superior (here at my own system. I don't know other users experience).
PS. Stardict works with espeak and needs no further configuration. I'm just wondering if I can use qstardict, because of it's QT interface. (Stardict is GTK based).
TIA!![Wink](https://www.kubuntuforums.net/core/images/smilies/wink.gif)
EDIT:
Finally I installed the author proposed TTS (WyabdcRealPeopleTTS).
Instructions here: http://wiki.qstardict.ylsoftware.com...cRealPeopleTTS
PS. Stardict has been banned from SF.NET (who has a strict zero tolerance for non-free files redistributions), so WyabdcRealPeopleTTS can be download from Google Code page: https://code.google.com/p/stardict-3/downloads/list (The BZ2 file).
I suppose this TTS is freeware, but the original pages seems to be dead.
I'm not sure though, since these pages are in Chinese.
