    Restoring icon positions?

    Hi! :-)

Is there any tool or any manual way to save and restore the desktop icon (plasmoids actually) positions?

Sometimes, when returning from full-screen (mostly after playing a game), one or more icons has lost their original positions.
    TIA! :-)

Yeah, that can happen when your resolution gets changed. Depends on the game, but some of them may allow you to use the same resolution as your desktop - thus avoiding the problem.

You can lock any settings in plasma by using the "immutable" switch in it's config file. For example, put

    [$i]

in ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals and all the files with "plasma" in the name. It totally removes the option to unlock widgets and nothing is adjustable! More info available in the Kiosk wiki http://techbase.kde.org/KDE_System_A...ion/Kiosk/Keys.

I'm not sure how this will impact your desktop when you change resolutions.

      Thanks oshunluvr! :-)

I opened this file, but it hasn't any plasma option.
Only general options there (eg. color settings).
Kdedrc also seems not to be related and I couldn't found any setting file for this purpose.

Worse than that, the documentation at kdebase seems to be written long ago for the previous kde version (v3.4), (which of course didn't has plasma).
(At kdebase), figures are deleted, the external links are dead and trying to open them, informs you that they moved to Atlanta (404 error).
Kiosk tool (the gui interface), is abandoned as well. The last mail at it's maillist is from past year's summer and says that it is not any more in active development and it is not complete for today's kde (it misses options).

Also I couldn't found any "kiosk" entry, neither in repositories nor at my doc directory.
Seems like kiosk, never properly updated for kde4.
