How Do I Adjust The Equalizer In Amarok?

    Greetings,

I have never in my life had to ask a question on where to find an option in a program, but then I have never in my life run into an application like Amarok. Where is everything? After plenty of Googling I figured out how to Randomize and get my Playlist to repeat. In Rythmbox and WMP these options are easy to find, but not in Amarok. After installing an OS, I always configure every single possible setting in every application that I will be using. I seriously do not recall ever being so lost on how to find configuration options for a program. This is one of the reasons why people complain about KDE!

Anyway, enough of my complaining. I'm using Kubuntu 12.04. I don't know which version of Amarok it is because I can't find an "About: Amarok" option. Wow. I've got too much treble and I need to balance things out. Please help.

    Thanks

Well, I wouldn't want my streak of solving my own problems to go unbroken. Here I am with the answer:

I right clicked somewhere along the top near the volume controls. I was then able to 'unhide' the "File - Edit - Playlist - Tools - Etc" main menu which was hidden for some bizarre reason. Inside of the "Tools" menu option I found the Equalizer. GRR, why was it hidden?!?

I'm not a fan of the Amarok 2 UI. I'd recomend giving Clementine a spin.

Or for something completely different, bangarang (requires nepomuk)

Thanks. I'd rather use Unity than use Amarok.

Woah! Steady on! Have you tried banshee .... (the unity player).

Do you know how to install Clementine?

I did use Banshee before in my Ubuntu days. I found it kind of sluggish. Rhythmbox worked well for me. I was excited at first about Amarok since it loads lyrics, but now that I've played with it a bit, I consider it a major UI fail.

It's sad, I installed Kubuntu and most of the software I use on a daily basis is GTK: Password Gorilla, Firefox, Thunderbird, Totem and now maybe Rhythmbox? I'm pretty sure LibreOffice is GTK also.

I assume I would find Clementine in Muon... Yep, it's there. 4.5 / 5 star rating, too! I'll do some research and comparisons and see which music player has the best reviews. Thanks for the suggestion!
